Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is handled when you visit www.gnoup.com(“GNOUP”, “we”, “us”), and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information we don't ask for

GNOUP has no accounts or sign-ups. Our free tools (such as the timer, calculators and password checker) run entirely in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us.

Information stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage for a few essential preferences, such as your cookie choice and tool settings like timer lengths, and whether you muted the sound in our games. These stay on your device and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

The Norwegian 4x4 Timer also saves your timer settings (interval lengths, warm-up, minute-alert switches, sound and volume) in one small first-party cookie named n4x4_prefs. It lasts one year, is used only to remember your choices on this device, and is not used for advertising or tracking. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

The lists of articles, tools and games let you choose how to sort them, whether to see thumbnails or a list, and how many entries to show per page. These display preferences are saved on your device (in local storage, under the name gnoup_listing_prefs) only when you have allowed storage by choosing Accept in our cookie banner. If you choose Essential only, or haven't chosen yet, they are kept in memory just while the page is open and nothing is written to your device. They are first-party, never sent to us, and not used for advertising or tracking.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to keep the site running securely and is kept only for a limited period.

Cookies and advertising

GNOUP is supported by advertising. With your consent, we may load third-party advertising partners. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance and, where allowed, personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept these cookies. If you choose Essential only, third-party ad scripts are not loaded. You may still see our own promotions or plain links. You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.

GNOUP is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
